A processional of bands will open the day’s events and all will again convene for the noontime Gathering on the Green. Additional impromptu performances will spring up throughout the day.

Take a piece of the Festival home with you by participating in interactive workshops from Celtic and Appalachian artists

  • Traditions in Asturian Scything with Alfonso Dias interactive demos at 10:30 & 1:00

  • Scottish Wool Waulking conditioning technique in song with Marybeth Miller interactive demonstrations at 11:00 & 1:30

  • Traditional Celtic Wheat Dolls & Symbols with Ruthanne Ankney open sessions

  • Celtic Themes in Jewelry with Becky Diller open sessions throughout the day

  • Friendsville Library Quilting Circle open sessions

Roaming DANCING ON A STRING, Discover Robert Mouland’s travelling marionettes & music around the grounds!

All day Craft stations: costumes, fairy gardens, flower crowns, face painting, contests, stories and songs by visiting performers, youth Highland Games, and much more. Complete a Scavenger Hunt card for a prize!

11AM CELTIC STORIES with Judith Clister

1PM THE BLARNEY STONE PLAY led by Patty Wells, sign up in the morning

LIVING HISTORY IN THE VILLAGE ALL DAY

  • Celtic Village & Glen of Clans: Explore the many Clans showing their family tartans and learn Celtic history from various re-enactors.

  • See craft demonstrations throughout the grounds. Shop Celtic gifts from the many artisan vendors. The aroma of delicious grub and grog will lead you there!
